Missing

Marta
Marta and Pedro where taken by Social Welfare from their parents. They were drug addicts, leaving Marta and Pedro alone for many days. Little Marta would climb into the cupboards hiding there for many hours. She would not come out of the cupboard and fear where visible on her face. She started school this year and on the second day of school she went missing. Our staff searched the whole day, going to local police stations and asking people along the road if they saw her. Seven a clock that evening she was still missing and there where nothing we could do anymore. After we gave up the search for that night we received a phone call from the police that a lady found Marta, miles away from her school. She was very traumatized and tired, but it was a huge relieve for us that we could find her. She kept on wandering from school the next few weeks, one of our educators had to wait at the school gate to make sure she does not wander off again. Leonor spoke to a local psychologist about Marta. She explained to Leonor that children whose mother used drugs during pregnancy, do not always realize where they are. This explains her wandering off, following the first person she sees. This little life was damaged in the womb of her mother, and by the choices of her mother. Please pray for her on this journey of healing we are walking with her and her brother Pedro.
