Living Safe

Jim Elliot writes, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."

We are faced with many decisions in our life and through all of this we hear the voice of God calling us to die within ourselves. This process of us dying to ourselves is central in our relationship with Jesus. Many of our decisions is about us perserving our life and living a secure, comfortable life. We want to make sure that our future holds no surprises and that one day we have enough money to retire. In contrast to this Jesus calls us to a life of sacrifice, to lay down our lives, to trust and Him and follow were  ever He may leads us. This decision to seek first the kingdom of God is very important for us and to know that God will take care of us and supply in our every need. What will you answer if Jesus walks by and asks you to leave everything behind and to follow Him?
