Pieter and Ecson |
The first time I held baby Ecson, I experienced so many different emotions, from anger for the parents throwing him away and so much love for him. I often wondered what made the mother go to the rubbish dump, and throw this new born baby in a hole and then cover his small body with trash. The thought of this small body in a hole in a rubbish dump covered in rubbish breaks my heart. He surved for three whole days before he were discovered in the hole. Out of this situation of desperation Jesus stepped in and a miracle happened. Jesus comes and He saves this little life. Ecson and his new mother come and visit often, and every time I hold his body I am reminded of the miracle of his life. His growing fast and he is so healthy. Jesus also stepped into my life many years ago, a time when I was also searching for some light in my life. He changed my past and my future. Each time I hold a orphan, a HIV orphan or an abandoned child I feel the love of Jesus for each one of them. In this is the answer to the question why we take care of orphans. To know that Jesus become a Father for the fatherless is one of the most profound truths of the Bible and that caring for the orphan and the widow is pure religion.
