Dreams

Pascal our oldest son loved football from a very young age. He will walk through our house kicking a football. He would spend most of his afternoon playing football in the streets with his friends until it is dark. Three years ago he mentioned that he would love to play at a club. I did not know if it was even possible to play for a club here. I told him to pray and ask Jesus to open a way for him to play football here in Mozambique. One day he sat down and shared that he dreams to play professional football for the Italian football team AC Milan, one of the biggest clubs in the world. His desire to play football also grew and we started to look for a place for him to play. Luis one of our co-workers told us that he arranged a meeting with coach of a local team. We went early the morning asking the coach if Pascal can train with his team. He told us that Pascal can come and train the next day. At that stage we did not know that Ferroviario, the club he is starting to train at is one of the biggest clubs in Mozambique. He trained for almost eight months with out playing a match. The kids he was training with was really good and we realized the privilege to be able to train with them. Finally last year Pascal got the opportunity after almost eight months of training to play his first match. I can still remember his smile when he put on the Ferroviario shirt for the first time. That night he pointed to a paper on his wall, saying to me "it has begun." On his wall was printed Proverbs 16:3, "Commit to the Lord whatever you do and He will establish your plans."

It is importnat for us to dream and to be passionate about things. It is also important for as to choose our passions and to be passionate about the things Jesus are passionate about.
